Lecturer in Modern
Greek, University of Florida
The University of Florida announces an opening for a Lecturer in Modern Greek
beginning August, 2003. This position (a possible 3-year post) is part of a
European Union grant to promote language study.
The Center for Greek Studies, housed in the Department of Classics, offers
courses in Greek language from beginning to advanced levels. The person taking
this position should be prepared to teach both introductory level language
classes and courses on contemporary Greek authors. He/she should also be able to
offer at least one course in translation. An interest in the Greek-American
experience and the development of a course on this topic would be an additional
asset for this position.
Since we would like the position filled by August 8, 2003, time is of great
importance. Please send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and letters of
support to Dr. Karelisa Hartigan, Co-Director, Center for Greek Studies, POB
