Greek Economy and Finance Minister Nikos
Christodoulakis said privatisation and structural reforms must be accelerated if
Greece wants to become more competitive. He added that the government would aim

Good targets for
e-business policies - workshop The Greek Presidency, in cooperation with the European Commission's
Enterprise DG, is organising a workshop to identify good targets for e-business
policies in Heraklion, Crete, from 26 to 27 May.
The event is organised within the framework of the eEurope 2005 action plan, and
aims to discuss how e-business policies should be designed as well as to
identify voluntary targets at regional and national level.
Practical examples of second generation e-business policies, with an emphasis on
small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) , are the subject of an open call for
presentations. The deadline for submissions is 31 March, and the selected
presentations will form the basis for discussions at the event.
The workshop is expected to bring together around 150 decision makers and
e-business policy practitioners, academics, business association representatives
and SME network members.
The workshop is only open to members of the European e-Business Support Network
for SMEs, therefore anyone wishing to present a policy initiative is advised to
register for membership beforehand.
